Softwood Gin Bar - Chelsea Flower Show
The client, Warner Edwards, commissioned us to build and install an exhibition stand for their artisan gin sales at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show. As they only received notification of their slot last minute, we didn’t have long to bring their ideas to life!
The project was subject to stringent Health and Safety procedures mainly due it being used by members of the pubic, as well as the number of tradesmen building exhibition areas at one time. We had to supply public liability insurance, risk assessments and method statements. All our staff had to be CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card holders, meaning they were also fully competent in Health and Safety on site. In addition to this, they each had to complete site inductions. Whilst on site, correct PPE (personal protective equipment) had to be worn at all times and we had stringent rules to adhere to.
The structure was completed in sawn softwood timber for a rustic effect. It consisted of a corrugated roofed structure on an elevated deck with steps and balustrades.
The structure was designed to look like a pitched barn, with angled supports and cladded walls.
Once the show had finished the client asked us to dismantle the structure, transport and reinstall at two more events Car Fest North and Car Fest South.
