Timber Staircase & Softwood Decking - Honor Oak Park, London
This project was completed in May 2022 by The London Decking Company. This project was a ‘Design and Build’ project built to the customers specifications.
The project involved the removing the old and unsafe timber staircase and replacing it with a brand-new custom-made staircase in Canterbury softwood. You can see from the images that the previous staircase was much smaller and only involved one flight of stairs. Within the new design, we created two beautiful viewing platforms with much desirable timber screening and were able to extend the staircase to include two flights of stairs with a large softwood decking, which opened up the garden and made the space much more desirable. The decking includes three steps and a handrail for additional support on to the remaining garden, this is now the perfect space for entertaining on those warmer evenings.
You will notice the decking is smooth side up (can be placed castle side up – (with grooves)). We recommend you use any timber decking smooth side up to prevent dirt and water sitting in the grooves and causing your decking to rot. Plus the smooth side means sanding and treating your decking in the future will be much easier. Another benefit we have added to ensure this timber staircase lasts for as long as possible includes ‘Deck Tape’ this seals and protects the raw edges, which will stop the timbers from water/moisture and the frame from weathering.
We have a passion for creating the decking which our clients dream of. If you would like our help or advice, please do not hesitate to contact us for a free quotation.
