Great Ormond Street Hospital - London
This project was completed in September 2020 by The London Decking Company and it involved the installation of Millboard Enhanced Decking to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. This was a complicated project which included a spiral staircase and a decorative curved design. Our experience team cut this composite decking boards to form the circular shapes on a Millboard PlasPro Composite frame. As a fun addition, we were asked to add these splash looking lights. Not being a traditional lighting shape, was not an issue for our experienced team.
To begin this project, we started by laying a landscaping membrane. Once this was laid, we could begin construction on the Millboard PlasPro composite frame which sat on 65-100mm adjustable pedestals.
Once all the framework was completed the real fun began. Cutting the various coloured decking boards into a curved playful design. This was a challenge the team exceeded at. Moving on from laying the decking came the difficult task of cutting the ‘splash’ shape for the colourful light fittings. These were cut using a jigsaw and a very steady hand.
