Composite Decking with PlasPro - Parklands Walk, Islington
This project was completed within January - February 2020 by The London Decking Company. We are asked to create an observation deck and to remove and rebuild a safe and useable stepped area.
Islington Council asked us to construct a substantial joist system across the area for the observation deck and the stairs from 125 x 50mm PlasPro composite joists. All joists were placed at 300mm centres to ensure a strong firm feel to the decked area. The joists were sat on 100 x 100mm PlasPro composite posts, all joists were attached using 100mm timber locks.
Millboard Weathered Oak Vintage decking board were laid using Durafix stainless steel screws to ensure a flawless finish to the decked area. This was finished off with a PlasPro composite handrail.
Using Millboard Weathered Oak Vintage really enhanced the natural beauty of this area while ensuring the decking would last for many years to come. As you can see from the images, we have provided detailed drawings of the proposed area. This enabled the council to have a better understanding of the finished look.
